 Here's my final piece for the fantasy object assignment. I'm fairly pleased, though I feel like the background could use some work. I struggled with finding an environment that made sense contextually but didn't become so busy that it distracted from the focal point of my work. However, I am happy with how the musical notes and the shading on the sewing machine itself turned out!

  Current in progress for project 1. I'm fairly happy with how it's turning out so far, given that I'm completely new to the software. The things I'm currently struggling with is making the logos/designs look congruous with the rest of the piece, and I also still haven't fully decided on a background.

 This is my current progress on my tracing and filling of my image. I'm struggling a bit with getting my gradients to format properly, but I am making steady progress. I am planning on combining the sewing machine with a vintage record player, with the needle on the sewing machine taking the place of the needle on the record player.

 My initial appliance/object that I'm using as a reference for this project is a vintage Singer sewing machine like the one in this image.
